Carol A. Newman, Attorney at law, was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is a graduate of St. Joseph Academy, a magna cum laude graduate from the University of New Orleans, and a 1984 Loyola Law School graduate receiving her juris doctorate degree. Ms. Newman began her private law practice in 1985 and has obtained extensive experience in the area of real estate law, providing closing services from a wide range of clients, such as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, the Port of New Orleans, Habitat for Humanity, Neighborhood Development Foundation, the Housing Authority of New Orleans, numerous community development foundations, and thousands of residential and commercial real estate transactions. Because of her 37 years of experience and her commitment to the integrity of the law, Attorney Newman has been recognized by several State Courts as an expert witness in the area of real estate law. She has been a faculty member at numerous continuing legal education seminars speaking on such topics as "Wills and Estate Planning"... "How to Prepare a HUD-1 Settlement Statement"... "Real Estate Closings," etc... Ms. Newman also has extensive experience in the area of Wills and Estates. Attorney Newman litigates cases involving real estate, wills, the administration of estates, interdictions, tutorships, and related matters. Ms. Newman is also the owner of Newman Title Insurance Agency a full service to the agency for 34 years and is a licensed title insurance agent for First AmericanTitle Insurance Company and WFG National title Insurance Company, providing title insurance coverage to thousands of homeowners and businesses throughout the State of Louisiana. Attorney Newman is very active in the local community. She is a 2012 - 2013 National Top Ten Business Woman for the American Business Women's Association and a board member of the ABWA/LeCapitale Chapter (Baton Rouge), a c ommittee chair for the ABWA Crescent City Connnections League (New Orleans), a member of the Louisiana Land Title Association, a member of the New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Title Attorneys and a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.
